Churchwide Prayer Guide

Things to Pray for Midtown Church & Our Community

We have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” Col 1:9-10

PRAY THAT WE
MIDTOWN CHURCH
WOULD
….

Grow in Love – By this all will know that you are my Disciples, if you have love for one another.

John 13:35

  • Pray for a greater understanding of God’s love
  • Pray that we would have unity amid diversity—loving those with whom we have nothing in common but the gospel
  • Pray for believers to walk in God’s love towards each other
  • Pray for the church to have a greater love for the lost
  • Pray for the church to fall more in love with Jesus

Help the Hurting— He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Ps 147:3

  • Pray for eyes to see those around us who are broken
  • Pray for those whose view of Christ has been marred by how the church has represented Him
  • Pray to be true, authentic representation of the Father. May they see You when they see us!

  • Pray for those struggling with depression and anxiety
  • Pray for small business who have experienced hardship

Be Salt and Light “ You are the salt of the earth and you are the light of the world”

Mt 5:13-14

  • That a culture of discipling would form in which making disciples (of all nations) is viewed as an ordinary part of the Christian life.
  • That we would use Scripture to train and equip members to do the work of ministry.
  • That a hunger for studying the gospel would form among members so that they can guide and guard one another in it.
  • That transparent, meaningful relationships would become normal and remaining anonymous strange.
  • The preaching of God’s Word—that it would be biblically careful and Holy Spirit empowered
  • That has God’s profound calling upon our campuses
  • That cares for, reaches, mentors and disciples, children, adolescents, and Gen X, Gen Z, Millennials; Summer camps, Leatata Floyd, Nicholas, Greer Elementary District 56, EGUSD, Sac Unified, YMCA &. various Midtown Ministries

Bless our city/region— “The good influence of godly citizens causes a city to prosper, but the moral decay of the wicked drives it downhill.”

Proverbs 11:11

  • Pray for spiritual awakening in our city and that God would use us to point people to God
  • Pray that Midtown Church would influence the culture in our city
  • Pray that giving would be faithful, as well as joyful, consistent, and sacrificial, so that we would always have enough to do ministry.
  • Pray for a primary residence for our EG Campus (District 56 or otherwise)
  • Pray for God’s future plans for new construction of our Sac campus
  • Pray that we would walk out Micah 6:8 (He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly[with your God).

Bless and Guide All Leaders (Church & Government)— First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
