Kids Director (Part-Time)

Midtown Church in Sacramento, California, is seeking a Kids Ministry Director to join our Sacramento Campus team (part-time).

This person will create and lead a dynamic team of staff and volunteers who partner with children (birth through 5th grade) and families to see many more kids come to faith and grow as disciples. The Kids Ministry Director will provide caring leadership for the kids staff and volunteers by encouraging, empowering and equipping them and always by personally modeling our values and mission; execution of weekend and midweek program and kids care. This person will also need to effectively communicate vision and God’s Word and ably help in congregational care and connection.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing point leadership and direction over the Kids Ministry (Sacramento Campus) to initiate ministry that grows and is healthy
  • Recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers such that the ministry is growing and healthy
  • Building relationships with children, their families, and volunteers
  • Creating an engaging Sunday morning experience
  • Partnering with the Family pastor and family ministries in equipping parents for discipling at home
  • Oversee the purchase, distribution, and use of all equipment and supplies
  • Lead and assist with Elk Grove Kids Director in planning a Children’s Ministry staff get-together at least twice a year to build a sense of teamwork among all team members. 
  • Express appreciation to the Children’s Ministry staff, including an end-of-the-year event.
  • Partner with family ministry team for quarterly family events, meet ups, camps and conferences.

  • Clear & effective communication skills (speaking and writing) to both internal & external audiences
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, demonstrate initiative, open-minded, and results & team oriented
  • Strong relationally and the ability to influence and be involved with training and equipping leaders
