GIVE

Sponsor a kid to shop for a toy, while he/she learns about the spirit of giving

“The Gift of Giving” with The Table Community Foundation is an incredible opportunity for kids in their program.  Purchase a $50 or $100 Target gift card to shop for others and then for themselves.

Kids submit a letter about what “giving” means to them. 100 kids are selected and given the chance to shop for a toy at Target with a shopping volunteer.

If you’d like to be a shopping volunteer on December 11, please visit our SERVE opportunities below.

WEEKLY OUTREACH OPPORTUNIITES:

Midtown Church serves our city each week by providing and caring for our unhoused and displaced residents.

We encourage you to partner with us as we provide showers, food and clothing in the community on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and the last 2 Sundays of the month.

Below are 3 ways you can help care for our
unhoused and displaced residents. All of this is only accomplished with the help of our church family. Serve with us in an ongoing rotation, bring along your friends and small groups, together we have a large impact.

2020-2021: 150k+ meals served, 65k+ showers provided.

1. Shower Trailer Ministry

The Shower team needs willing drivers to tow shower trailers, setup & breakdown of shower trailers, operating shower trailers for our guests. People able to connect with guests by providing food, clothing, conversation & prayer. Clothing team needs willing volunteers to sort, organize and tag donated clothing. Clothing team is also looking for a few key volunteer roles to help with communications and warehouse management.

Our shower ministry has expanded to alternating locations with partners in our city. What began with our church fundraising to buy 1 shower trailer has now expanded to considerable impact. Currently the state of CA has committed to funding another shower trailer for this ministry, way to go church! If you like to see where we are serving weekly on this schedule to share with those in need or want to support by donating, visit our site.

2. Provide Lunch Bags

Putting together lunches supports our ministry as a tangible and practical way for you, your family, small group and friends to serve together. We provide 300 lunches daily. When you sign up to bring 25 lunches you bless this ministry by being a part of the count. This helps us plan, prepare and work together as a church. Sign up for a day you’re able to provide.

3. More ways to help

The Shower team needs willing drivers to tow shower trailers, setup & breakdown of shower trailers, operating shower trailers for our guests. People able to connect with guests by providing food, clothing, conversation & prayer.
