Key Passage:
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11
Biblical Foundation:
- God’s people were exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon in three stages: 605 BC, 597 BC, and 586 BC.
- This exile was both an act of justice (discipline for disobedience) and grace (a step toward restoration).
- Jeremiah 29:11 reminds them (and us) of God’s heart: His plans are for hope and a future, not harm.
- Hebrews 12:6 says, “The Lord disciplines those He loves,” showing His correction comes from care.
- Within Jeremiah 29, God invites His people to return, remain, and trust to “make abiding great again.”
The Big Question:
If we saw life the way God sees it, what would change?
Point #1: God Has Plans for Where We Are
Jeremiah 29:4-10
Point #2: God Provides Deliverance From Where We Are
“To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.”
Daniel 1:17
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
Point #3: God Expects an Intimate Relationship Where We Are
Jeremiah 29:11-14
Final Thought:
God knows where you are, and He has a plan for where you’re at
