GROUPS

CONNECT relationally, GROW spiritually, and MULTIPLY Christ-centered disciples.

We weren’t made to do life alone. God created us to be in community. Groups will help you develop meaningful relationships and strengthen your faith while we pursue God together!

Groups at Midtown Church

We kicked off Groups at Midtown Church in the summer of 2022 with 10 groups and 100 people. As of 2025, we've grown to 70+ groups and 1,800+ people involved in a group! Through Groups, people are finding HOPE in God, building rhythms of spiritual HEALTH, and experiencing God's HEALING in various aspects of life—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

START A GROUP

As God continues to add to our Midtown family, we want you to prayerfully consider starting a group. Your yes could be the answer to someone’s prayer for connection! Whichever option you choose, we’re here to encourage, equip, and empower you as you create community here.

2 WAYS TO START A GROUP:

1. LEAD

Become a group facilitator of an official Midtown group that would be posted online for people to request to join. We’ll work alongside you to train, equip, and encourage you as you create community here.

2. GATHER

It doesn't have to be formal! Pray about who God wants you to invite and gather those people to do life together around a study whether it is your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, or anyone else you feel called to have community with. You can use our group resources and go at your own pace.

Note: Interested in opening up your home, but not necessarily leading a group? Click here to email us if you would like to HOST and we’ll look to match you with a group leader in need of a venue.

JOIN A GROUP

There are two general types of groups offered.

1. COMMUNITY GROUPS

Our Community Groups meet year-round and provide opportunities for connection with a larger body of people (usually 50+) through meetups and events in Elk Grove and Sacramento. Joining one is a simple and fun way to start forming friendships…and maybe even your future small group!

- 1825 (18-25)
- The Bridge (25-39)
- Midtown Men
- Midtown Women
- 55 & Better
- Confident Mommas

2. SMALL GROUPS

Our Small Groups are where deeper connection happens. They are smaller gatherings (typically 3-12 people) that focus on a Bible study, book study, or sermon deep dives, and meet locally at homes, coffee shops, parks, or even online.

These groups run in trimester seasons — Winter/Spring (January - May), Summer (June - August) and Fall (September - December).
