“It’s Time to Grow Up”

Pastor Christa Armstead

Biblical Foundation:

Paul’s letter to the Romans emphasizes unity in Christ and the call to live in mature love. Believers are urged to move beyond immaturity, division, and selfishness, and to demonstrate Christlike love that fulfills the law.

Key Scriptures:

Romans 5:10 – “While we were enemies, God demonstrated His great love for us.”

Romans 13:11 – “The time has come to wake up from our sleep, for salvation is nearer to us than when we first believed.”

Romans 13:8 – “Owe no one anything except to love each other.”

1 Corinthians 13:11 – “When I was a child, I spoke like a child… when I became a man, I gave up childish ways.”

1 Corinthians 12:20 – “There are many members but one body.”

1 Corinthians 13:4–8 – “Love is patient, love is kind… it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

Big Idea: Love is the throughline of the Gospel—from Genesis to Revelation.
1. Love Graciously –

Welcome others without judgment, respecting differences.

Romans 14:1–8

2. Love Responsibly –

Avoid causing others to stumble; put others’ growth before personal freedom.

Romans 14:13–21

3. Love Selflessly –

Bear with the weaknesses of others; carry each other’s burdens.

Romans 15:1–3

4. Love Christocentrically –

Live with Christ at the center; His example shapes our love.

Romans 15:3

5. Love Victoriously –

God’s love wins; He brings ultimate victory over the Enemy.

Romans 16:20

Final Thought:

It is time to WAKE UP (to the call as a believer), PAY UP (the kind of love we receive from God), and GROW UP (and mature in our faith & how we live it out!).
