Dr. Efrem Smith
Key Passage: Jeremiah 34:8-11
Biblical Foundation:
The Book of Jeremiah 34- Freedom, Judgement, and the Problem of Slavery and Sin.
- Jeremiah as the Weeping (Emotional) Prophet. He’s sharing God’s Vision Statement.
- God is bringing judgment for the sins of Judah, but there’s also a vision of restoration and the renewing of the Covenant. A God Who Sees We’re Broken. God’s Vision Statement For Our Lives Sees Brokenness and Offers Repair.
• A Vision Statement in the Book- Jeremiah 29:4-7 and 11-14
• Jeremiah is the continued story of God dealing with a people set free from slavery, still struggling with what it really means to be free.
The Big Question:
If we saw life the way God sees it, what would change?

Leviticus 25:44-55
Point #2: Freed People Are Called By God to Free People

Galatians 5:1
Point #3: Freedom Is Not An Option With God
Jeremiah 34:12-22
Final Thought: Christ Is A Freedom Fighter
