SHOW ME A SIGN

Key Verses: Acts 2:14–18, Matthew 3:17, John 14:15–18
Supporting Verses: Isaiah 7:14, Ephesians 5:18, Romans 8:9, Genesis 8:11, Ephesians 1:13–14

POINT 1 — THE POURING (Acts 2:14–18)

  • Acts 2: The Holy Spirit is poured out—God’s sign that He is present and empowering His people.
  • Ephesians 5:18 — “Be filled with the Spirit.”
    • Asotia — lack of control, recklessness
    • Baptizo — submerged
  • Water baptism = outward sign
  • Spirit baptism = inward transformation
  • Romans 8:9 — The Spirit identifies who belongs to God.

POINT 2 — THE PRESENCE (Matthew 3:17)

  • At Jesus’ baptism, God gives a clear sign of His presence and His love.
  • “This is my Son… in whom I am well-pleased.”
  • God still speaks identity, affirmation, and purpose over His people today.

POINT 3 — THE PROMISE (John 14:15–18)

  • Jesus promises the Helper, the Holy Spirit.
  • “I will not leave you as orphans.”
  • The coming of the Spirit is God’s sign that we are never abandoned.

FINAL THOUGHT — THE SEAL (Ephesians 1:13–14)

  • The Holy Spirit is the seal of our salvation—a sign of God’s ownership and His promise.
  • A seal marks:
    • Identity — who you belong to
    • Security — protected by God
    • Guarantee — God keeps His promises
  • The greatest sign God gives isn’t external—it’s His Spirit within us.
