“There’s Power in Your Praise”

Pastor Susie Gamez

MAIN VERSE:

Psalm 150:6  – “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”

PRAISE IS: An expression, adoration, an attitude, a posture of the heart.

HALAL: to praise, to boast, to be clamorously foolish

  • Psalm 150:6 – “Let everything that has breath halal the Lord. Halal the Lord.”

YADAH: to revere or worship; to give thanks or praise, to extend the hands

  • Psalm 9:1 “I will yada You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.”

TEHILLAH: a song or hymn of praise; spontaneous song of praise

  • Psalm 22:3 “But you are holy, enthroned in the tehillah of Israel.”
  • 2 Samuel 6:14: “David…danced before the Lord with all his might…”

PRAISE IS: an act of faith and obedience.

  • Hebrews 13:15: “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name”

PRAISE IS: a weapon of warfare.

“Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands”.

The armies of Judah began to sing and praise, and the Lord set ambushes against their enemies, leading to their defeat.

While imprisoned, they prayed and sang hymns to God; an earthquake shook the prison, opening all the doors and loosening their chains.

PRAISE IS: the dwelling place of God.

  • Psalm 22:3 “but you are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.”
  • Psalm 22:3 “but thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” (KJV)

“As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road. When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” – Luke‬ ‭19‬:‭36‬-‭40‬ ‭NIV‬‬

LET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE THE LORD.
