“Who Is The Holy Spirit”
Dr. Efrem Smith
Biblical Foundation:
- John Chapter 14– The Gift of the Holy Spirit and A Place of Residence
- Jesus goes from talking about preparing a place for His Followers in God’s House to His Followers being a place for the Holy Spirit to be housed. Jesus goes from talking about His identity to the identity of the Holy Spirit. (John 14:1-10)
- Being Christ-centered and having the Holy Spirit at the center of our being.
THE BIG QUESTION: Who Is The Holy Spirit in Our Lives?
1. The Holy Spirit is An Advocate
- John 14:11-16
- You are not alone. Both Christ and the Holy Spirit is our advocate.
- You don’t need to live life seeking affirmation and approval everywhere you go.
- Your advocacy and affirmation are an inside job.
2. The Holy Spirit is Truth
- John 14:17-24
- In Christ, we are meant to house the truth of God. The Holy Spirit reminds us of the truth of who God is, who we are, and the world we live in.
3. The Holy Spirit is a Teacher
- John 14:25-27
- There is a school inside of you. Are you willing to become a student?
Final Thought: The Holy Spirit is With Us in The Battles
- John 14:27-31
- The Holy Spirit Shows Us Who Our Real Enemy Is and Points Us to Victory in God.
