I AM: Discovering the God Who Is

Big Idea:
When God reveals Himself as “I AM,” He shows us His Purpose, His Presence & Promises, and His Power.

1. THE GREAT I AM HAS A PURPOSE

• Genesis 15:1-5
• Genesis 15:13-15
• Exodus 3:1-6

A Divine Interruption: God got Moses’ attention.

A Divine Visitation: God met Moses where he was.

A Divine Calling, God invited Moses into something bigger than himself.

What am I learning about God’s purpose?

2. THE GREAT I AM IS PRESENT

• Exodus 3:7-10
• Exodus 3:12
• John 15:5

“Who Am I?” Moses focused on his weaknesses, failures, and insecurities.

“I Will Be With You.” God shifted the focus from Moses to Himself.

The Answer Is Found in Him – The answer to “Who am I?” is found in “Who He is.”

What am I learning about God’s presence and promises?

3. THE GREAT I AM IS POWERFUL

• Exodus 6:1-3
• Exodus 14:13-14
• Exodus 14:19-20
• The Plagues, Passover, the Red Sea, the Pillar of Cloud, the Pillar of Fire

God didn’t just call His people—He delivered them.

What am I learning about God’s power?

THE GREAT I AM

The God who has a purpose.
The God who is present.
The God who keeps His promises.
The God who has power.

The God who delivered Israel.
The God who delivers us through Jesus.
