Don’t Give Up Hope, Just Give Up

When Do I Call It Quits?

Biblical Background: Hope is Found in Christ, Not the Law.

The BIG Q: What Do We Need to Know to Keep Hope Alive?

1.) The Law Can’t Save Us & We Can’t Save Ourselves

Galatians 3:10-13

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”

The BIG Q is…What Do We Need to Know to Keep Hope Alive?

2.) Giving Up Our Way for God’s Way

Galatians 2:19-21

“For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

3.) God Gives Us Hope So We Won’t Give Up Hope!

Isaiah 40:30-31

Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.
